John Cowan is the Labour candidate for Cambridge and
regular contributor
to LabourList. He used to be in the Lib Dems before he was expelled for being a sex pest. He then tried and failed to join the Tories. Labour welcomed in with open arms and even made him candidate:

Obviously a conviction politician.
Refusing to comment on something is not the same thing as condoning it. I doubt very much whether Kerry McCarthy is "fine" with this, but she doesn't have the ultimate say on who gets to join her party or who it selects as an election candidate.
So just grow up, you posh twat.

TB - Cowan is the Labour PPC for South East Cambridgeshire. Cambridge's Labour PPC is the delightful Daniel Zeichner, of Hitler salute fame (https://conservativehome.blogs.com/leftwatch/2010/03/labour-candidate-gives-nazi-salute-as-he-lazily-smears-tory-allies-in-europe.html)

Great excuse he comes up with, too: "I sent the emails because I wanted to blacken my party as I was leaving it". Don't you just love honour in politician?
This man's a disgrace.
At the South Norfolk Euro count last year Cowan was walking around dressed like Tony Manero (white suit, black shirt and white tie) - snappy image for a politician.
Local rumour is that he was kicked out of the Lib Dems for dodgy expenses claims for room hire, the truth will out eventually apparently.
