The Future
TB has just got out of the Area Chairman reception that turned into an utter farce.
TB is blogging angry which is never good but hey. There was shouting, swearing and slagging off.
Good buffet though.
On a serious note though the reform debate descended into everything wrong with Labour and the NUS. It was a joke. If this is the future of the party then well... fuck.
Each candidate held their own but the crowd was baying for blood.

It was a real shame. I thought that both Rock & Sullivan made their points well, but some members of the audience would not let them be heard while they spoke with language that was frankly unnecessary. To their credit both speakers held their tempers, which under the increasingly hostile circumstances was the one saving grace of the evening.
I should say I knew of the planned protest beforehand, I thought it was needed to re-inforce the opposition to the reforms at a grassroots level. I was wrong and would like to apologise to those who did not know what was to come for the way it turned out and for the premature ending to what could have otherwise been a very good evening.
One other thing... great party on Tuesday night TB.
