CF Election Results - Howlett Wins
Shocking that only 200 votes were cast. 18k members. Nice. So with an overwhelming mandate the winners are:
Chairman: Ben Howlett (Howlett 113, Cox 60)
Deputy (membership): Clare Hilley (Hilley 73, Cooper 47)
Deputy (political): Alexandra Swann (Swann 139, Khan 33)
Appointed Officer - James Deighton (Deighton 72, Sullivan 70)
Two women and a gay guy at the top. Without quotas. Without enforcement, without special patronising identity officers. Eat your heart out Labour. Gutted about Patrick Sullivan missing out by two votes. Good luck to the new team.
Though the massive drop in turn out needs investigation - someone has cocked up here.

I would have voted, had I received a ballot paper. I contacted my association and central hq to no avail.
Can't vote without a ballot paper i'm afraid.
Same as the previous anon comments - I received no ballot! I would have voted for Ben, mind, but am still narked. Apparently I was misregistered on joining - local party only not CF!
"Two women and a gay guy" - highly representative of CF then...
is there no quorum level in the election rules?
I got my ballot by email on Friday night after a week of harrassing Mr Returning Officer. He tried everything he could think of to stop me getting one - I had to get two association chairs to personally write to him.
As all party members within the age range are automatically members (as I understand it), and the party surely has a database of members (if it doesn't, how come I keep receiving emails from them?) can it really be so hard to simply send ballots to all CF members automatically?
I can't decide whether this is obfuscation -ie, electoral fraud - or not. Can anyone really be THAT incompetent?
I know for a fact that in some Associations most under 30 members are not registered as CF but in local area branches.
Also instructions sent to Association offices for uploading CF members was garbage.
I managed to get my ballot paper but I had to battle for it! (and I'm an AC)
New exec has a big job on to turn CF around on a national level.
I didn't receive a ballot paper either. How democratic.
If only I had a ballot paper!
As above, I would have voted if I'd been sent a ballot paper. I considered trying to contact people to find out why but laziness was the victor in that battle I'm afraid.
never got a ballot paper. No I know got one either, various constituencies.
The whole thing was a shambles, even compared with last time around it was a massive joke. The end result is a national Chairman who could not peel a carrot.
I suspect most Associstions have not got a clue who their CF members are. Most will be put into area Branches by Associations and not marked as CF in Merlin or Bluechip.
Secondly ive seen a copy of instructions for uploading CF members to CCHQ and lets just say they were not straightforward.
All I'll say is... Thank God we weren't fighting a General Election with the data on MERLI- Oh, wait...
No ballot here either. Plus as Anon 17.37 said - I was also misregistered on joining - I think it confused the local party that I was under 23 and thus in a different category!
The election should be re-run, if Ben Howlett has an ounce of decency he will be pushing for this.
200 votes?
For all the effort put in by all candidates?
As the expert witness memorably said in the OJ Simpson trial:
"Sumfing wong".
Would have voted but didn't receive a ballot paper despite asking in two different places.
Brilliant, but I hope the gay man in question enjoys speaking with Messrs Cameron and Howard about EXACTLY where they stood on section 28, equalising the age of consent, civil partnerships etc.
To understand your conservative future, you have to reconcile yourself to your bigoted past.
Given the tiny margins between some candidates, if the comments people are making here about not receiving ballot papers is representative of CF as a whole, and given the ridiculously low turnout it looks likely, I simply don't see how the result can be allowed to stand?
Didn't get my ballot either what a shambles something needs to be done about this, i did try and get one as well, absolute farce something needs to be done
Maybe its time to join UKIP then?
Wouldn't want any of those right wing libertarians getting in!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank goodness they screwed it up, now we can all go back to being socialists.
The first socialist, sein feinn supporting CF chair!
Three Years of Membership and I've not got a clue what CF is supposed to be.
I assumed it was just where the window lickers went to chant "Fair play on womens pay".
They have elected officials?
Next you'll be telling me my funding goes to them.
