Simon Says...

...please chill out.

TB wasn't sure what Simon Cavalier Jones was expecting in this race but:

"It's shocking how tribal and petty these elections have become. Elections should be fun, ideas should be banded about, people should be lobbying candidates and drinking with them. It's amazing the amount of rubbish talked about these Elections and the smearing.
CF should be fun, we after all are the Young Generation, it should be about meeting friends, politics and party's. Not spouting off arrogant nonsense and accusing people of things they have not done. Sadly this behaviour is what drives people away from us and it must stop.
Most people outside of CF see us as about as progressive as Cliff Richard! We need to show that as a Party, we are normal young people and the tone of these elections is not helping. Let's have some fun, have some laughs and reduce the amount of pomp involved. I for one promise to buy a beer for the funniest comment below (for or against me)."

Has that cold feeling of "what have I done?" dawned one of the candidates? Oh well.. will hold him to the beers.

What's wrong with asking people not to be dickheads!

Thanks for showing your not an arrogant twat or cox.

How about this one:

Ben Howletts campaign tour has been like having an election battle bus driving round the country, campaigning against you. With you sat on it!

For the love of Jesus, Allah, and Dawkins, please stop this immaturity. That goes for both camps. Please. It's this sort of crap that meant other experienced members (myself included) decided not to run.

If CF doesn't want to get stuck in a vicious circle of bickering, rather than building the foundation of a Conservative Future, you guys need to sort it out. Fast.

Simon, give me some ideas, I can use them! that's innovation.

John Prescott said...

You bastard, putting me on eyespy mp! I will give free Viagra to anybody who beats Simon, and i hear torys need it.

@ Oliver Cooper, what makes you think any camp is behind this? See that's the problem, widespread assumption.

I don't like you, and don't like either candidate either! Before your so smug and accusing people of x y and z, I suggest you check your facts. It's people like you slinging allegations that cause the problems not solve them.

I also suggest you learn to read, as the post above says the same thing as you do, yet your still calling for it like your Vince Cable.

@15:35 I don't. I don't know, or frankly care, whether any side is behind anything. But I think there are things that can be done to avoid the contest becoming personal: things that *either* side can do unilaterally. And that's by putting forward policies. Novel, I know.

@15:43 Another anonymong slinging insults at people for no reason. Yes, that's exactly the spirit that we need.

"Parties" not party's. Imbecile.

Andrew Dalton - "You're" not Your.

Fraser McFarland - "Needs" not needs.

Brian Jones (prob same person as Fraser) - "wants" not want's.

Iovilver no coper - "You're" not your, your and your.

@ Scary Marry, it's a comments section, not a spelling b. I suggest you back back on the picket line, outside the school you work in.

Scary Mary, does not just want she needs a boyfriend.

I agree with Simon!

Once upon a time, a nice normal man politely asked for people not to take life too seriously, but then they took him too seriously.

The End.

cannot believe what Ben howlett wrote.. nice to see that he is still a fat well adjusted young individual contributing to our society..

one candidate that id hoped by now would have stepped down after his FAKE mphil from oxbridge, fake C.V and many many many FAKE endorsements...

"It's this sort of crap that meant other experienced members (myself included) decided not to run."

That, and the fact you'd have lost, yeh?

Or this and other blogs could disable anonymous posting for the duration of the election?
Hiding behind pseudonyms and anonymous postings is not helping. If you have something to say about a candidate or a campaign, have the decency to use your name.
TB, you have rules for other things in the comments section (like not mentioning your real identity). Why not turn off anonymous posting until the results are in? It would curtail a lot of this childish behaviour.

@ Smallwood, how about this for a Slogan, "Could be worse, I could have smallbrains behind my campaign"

Ben D said...

Well said Simon

It's a real shame what Simon and some of his friend's have had to put up with in this election. The harassment and lies and exactly what we need to stamp out of CF.
