The new Against The Odds video drops the mention of "Cable Street".
Is this possibly because the fascists at Cable Street were led by Oswald Mosely - who had in effect been a Minister without Portfolio in a Labour government?
I do feel you are a touch harsh on the Labour government on WWII though...
As I'm sure you never tire of telling people in your spare time, had it not been for the Labour co-leaders Clement Atlee and Arthur Greenwood supporting Churchill's conviction to fight on, Britain may very well have followed the line advocated by Chamberlain and Halifax in the May 1940 Cabinet crisis and sued for peace with Hitler.
That was a major contribution to world cinema I nearly spontaneously combusted when I saw the PPB(on Hopi Sen) thanks . Oswald Moseley had some interesting policies actually , Nationalising the Banks for example ... Women used their votes to support the Conservative Party throughout the 20th century but you have to admit the National Health Service was an achievement for Labour. Anyway I just dropped into dish our obsequious praise and I was going to make lewd suggestion to Emily no-mates but I see you have that comments policy ..grrr . Let me just say then , that if she get her wallet out , by the third or fourth date a chaste kiss might be on the cards . No promises though Emily
I shall obviously have to make some bear time in my day from now on .
Nice treatment Tory Bear, amusing indeed. But be honest - made because Labour's PEB was strangely effective for a change. Good i'd say.
And labour was the first party to back votes for women and fight fascism. And Mandela would still be in jail under maggie, Obama probably fighting deportation.
I checked with the advertising standards authority who state the following:
# Political advertising All complaints of political bias in TV or radio advertising should be made to Ofcom (www.ofcom.org.uk). Nor can we investigate complaints about non-broadcast ads, where where the purpose of the ad is to persuade voters in a local or general election or referendum. Contact the Electoral Commission for more information (www.electoralcommission.org.uk).
But the electoral commission site has no specific area for PPB's.
A point I am sure under privileged Margaret Hodge ( cough splutter ) will want to emphasise when she faces the Labour Party your parents voted for , as the BNP put it .I came across a delightful example of New Labour meritocracy .The Guardian had a letter where someone had noticed Pére Milliband was reviewed by Polly Toynbee's Auntie (or some Toynbee) in the 50s with approval . Long may their dynasties continue in what is by far the most incestuous Party The Labour Party did some things that would have been done anyway in one form or another , perhaps more insurance less NHS and so on. The particular contribution of the British socialist however would have turned us into East Germany unimpeded by the heroic forces of Conservatism
I laugh ,ha ha ,at Gordon brown sucking up to Obama it is only yesterday you could not get anyone the Labour party to admit there was any difference between the US and the Soviet |Union.
The two problems TB has with yoof politics is the lack of accountability and a lack of humour - TB intends to kill, or at least wound these two birds with one stone. editor@torybear.com

The "drinking tinnies" bit at the end did smack very much of The Day Today endings with e.g. Morris shooting up etc.
Pity Emily managed to drink it up her nose!

You might at least have credited me for the Phil Collins gag... https://www.tomharris.org.uk/2009/11/16/against-the-odds/

And Bevin or Bevan, the point is surely the same?
You missed the fact that Oswald Moseley was a Labour MP before he founded the BUF!
Well he was also a Tory MP before so that just shows his taste got worse as he got older.

Perhaps a letter would do...

Apologies to Phil Collins.

"Obama probably fighting deportation."
And we'd all be better off.

This is spot-on about Labour wrapping itself in an NHS flag it has no claim to.
Another Labour myth exploded!

The "here's to" bit was almost a direct rip from the old Apple 'Think Different' ones. The music was similar too.

I think Chris Morris's job is safe.
