The Conservatives should be trying to get this freak out of office, regardless of how difficult it'd be to oppose Johnson in a general election.

Have the Conservatives not learned that we want integrity in politics?

The Conservatives should up their game and give people what they really want - an unequivocal stance on the EU; if the Treaty is ratified and the referendum result is No, repeal it. Simple.

I agree. Drawing constant attention to him is a coup for Labour. Don't understand why the Tories fear him. They should be relishing the opportunity.

Labour are finished, no matter who takes over.

I really don't see what is so fearsome about Johnson - it isn't as if he has the reputation (however undeserved) Brown had for economic "competence"

The problems go way beyond one man, they are the responsibility of the Labour government, the electorate will not forget that.

I wish the Tories would stop talking up Johnson. He is a likeable guy because he doesn't offend anyone - hardly the pedigree to be an effective leader.

If he succeeds in becomong PM, however short lived, half his job will have been done fo him because of the timidity of the Tories.
