HA! I would love this, schedule it for late in May next year perhaps? It'll take a while to set up a national referendum, after all. Maybe to be thorough they should have public debates about it too? Lots of them.

Fingers, toes, legs & arms crossed - oh, pretty please, hope etc. I think if he does hold out we should all chip in for a party for the Czechs for being lovely, lovely people. Never in the course of federal history has so much beer been owed by so many to such fantastic people.

President Klaus deserves to be awarded an Honourary Knighthood for standing up for Democracy and stalling the anti-Democratic EU/Lisbon Treaty. I hope Cameron awards this when/if he becomes PM next June.

In the meantime, he COULD support Klaus by strengthening his statement on the Treaty and making sure that EU Leaders know there WILL be a Referendum in the UK - regardless of whether or not it has been Ratified.
